Airline delay commitments
US law pays nothing for a delay, so what a US airline gives you depends on what it has promised. The Department of Transportation publishes those promises for 8 large airlines; this page sets them beside each airline's on-time record. For European and Canadian airlines, the law sets the amounts, and the useful thing is the airline's own claim page.

US airlines: what each commits to

European and Canadian airlines: where to claim
EU261, UK261 and Canada's APPR set the amounts, so these airlines pay the same as each other on the same flight. What differs is where you send the claim. Links go to the airline's own page, found on 2026-10-20. Airline groups fly under several licences — the operating carrier on your boarding pass is the one to claim from.
Left out: Hawaiian Airlines as a separate page — DOT now reports Hawaiian-branded flights inside the Alaska Airlines line, and its dashboard commitments are the same as Alaska's, so it is covered on the Alaska page. Spirit Airlines — Not on the DOT cancellation and delay dashboard, and absent from the June 2026 monthly on-time tables. Separate pages for non-US airlines — The site found no published, airline-specific delay commitments or punctuality figures for them that it could cite; they are listed with their own claim pages instead.
